GWS Giants (Giants) produced a stunning second-half comeback to defeat the Brisbane Lions (Lions) by 11 points, 17.5 (107) to 13.18 (96), in a pulsating contest at the Gabba. Trailing by 21 points at halftime, the Giants surged home with six final-quarter goals to complete one of their best wins of the season.
Aaron Cadman was the star of the night, finishing with five goals and dominating in the air with several contested marks inside 50. His performance gave the Giants a reliable target all night, particularly when the game was on the line in the last term.
Brisbane controlled much of the match early, dominating clearances and time in forward half, but poor conversion — including a 3.7 return in the third quarter — left them vulnerable. Lachie Neale worked hard through the middle, but the Giants lifted their pressure and forced turnovers when it mattered most.
The win keeps GWS firmly in the finals conversation, while Brisbane will be left to reflect on another missed opportunity at home.
