GWS came from behind to secure a thrilling three-point win over Richmond at ENGIE Stadium. Richmond made a fast start, kicking six goals in the first quarter to build a 28-point lead.
The Giants, however, fought back through resilience in the midfield and accurate forward entries. A stirring speech from injured co-captain Callan Ward at three-quarter time inspired a fierce comeback.
In the final term, GWS booted five unanswered goals to Richmond’s single behind, sealing the win with a final score of 12.8 (80) to 10.17 (77).
Callum Brown was instrumental, contributing two crucial goals in the last quarter, while Lachie Ash and Lachie Whitfield provided midfield dominance—Ash finishing with 35 disposals. Richmond started strong but ran out of legs in the fourth term, letting GWS claim a memorable victory.
